What we collect, and what we do not.

Datist, a small software team operating from Portugal. We decide what this website collects and why, which makes us responsible for it. There is no separate data protection officer — the people who wrote the site are the people who answer for it.

We use Plausible to count visits. It is cookieless, it stores nothing on your device, and it records no identifier that would let anyone recognise you on a later visit or on another site. What we see is aggregate: how many people opened a page, roughly where in the world they were, which site sent them, and which outbound links were clicked. We cannot tell who you are from it, and neither can Plausible.

If you write to us, the form is hosted by Tally and we receive whatever you chose to put in it — usually a name, an email address, and a description of what you need built. We use it to answer you and to carry on that conversation. We do not add it to a mailing list, and we do not send you anything you did not ask for.

The site is served as static files by Cloudflare. Like any web server, theirs sees the IP address a request came from in order to answer it. We do not store those logs ourselves and we do not use them to identify anyone.

One thing: if you switch between the light and dark theme, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site does not forget it. It never leaves your device and it is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, do not use advertising networks, do not build profiles, do not track you across other websites, and do not sell or rent anything about you to anybody. This is why you were not asked to accept cookies when you arrived — there were none to accept.

Analytics are aggregate figures with no record of an individual visit, so there is nothing about you in them to keep or delete. Enquiries we keep while the conversation is live and for as long as we may need the context afterwards; if you ask us to delete yours, we will.

Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask for a copy, or object to our holding it at all. In practice that means anything you sent us through the form. Ask through the same form and say what you would like us to do — we will not make you prove anything beyond enough to know we are answering the right person.

If you think we have handled your data badly, we would rather hear it directly. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.

If this policy changes we will change the date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting something this page does not mention.
